Trivia[]

  • The Ibishu Hopper Classic's description says it is a tribute to the classic military vehicle. This is strange however, as the Hopper is Japanese and the Japanese didn't have very many iconic military vehicles. As Japan didn't have any Jeep-style cars in WWII, the referenced vehicle (most likely a first generation Hopper) was probably from the Korean War, like the original Land Cruiser.
  • The Hopper takes most inspiration from the Jeep Wrangler YJ/TJ, as the creator, Gabester, said it was "basically a Wrangler" However, the powertrain and mechanicals are not far off from a Toyota J70 Land Cruiser (though that and many similar Japanese SUVs had diesels), which had similar SWB troop-carrier versions.
